Love her. Go girl 🤍
You should post this to /r/happycrowds
She was the best! She brings me to church and I am an atheist..
Locate a copy and view her postponed 1972 film, “Amazing Grace.” The film was directed by celebrated director Sydney Pollack, who would direct such acclaimed films as “The Way We Were,” and “Tootsie,” among others. Though promised by producers the film would make her a film star, (akin to Diana Ross or Barbra Streisand), it was found to have a technical flaw, making the sound out of sync. The film was then reluctantly shelved.
The technology available in recent years allowed for a fix to the technical problems, and we can benefit from a marvelous picture and updated sound. Though not restored until just prior to her 2018 death from pancreatic cancer, Aretha was able to see the film and was pleased. Her family agreed to its’ release after her death.
While best viewed in a theater, treat yourself to a viewing of the entire film. And bring tissues.
Oh my God. Spine tingling, goose bumps and chills. Beautiful
Absolutely wonderstruck on how she was able to move EVERYONE!
I worship like a dog on a Saturday night…
Sorry.
Could not ‘like’ this more. My wife and I walked into the movie theatre on a whim one Sunday and saw this. A true religious experience.
Forever the Queen
Would have loved to have been Charlie & Mick standing at the back of the hall.
Apparently, still the best selling gospel album ever.
I’m not even Christian and you can’t not be moved by her singing. She was a tremendous talent. They don’t make singers like this any more.
oh my gosh! I saw this documentary in high school (True/ False film festival). so cool to see it found it’s way to reddit haha
She is amazing God used her voice as a vessel to invoke the Holy Spirit! People must always remember it’s God and not Aretha that gets the praise. She is amazing only because of God and she can sing those powerful words because of His Amazing Grace He has bestowed upon us. Thank you Lord for your love and Grace. Forgive me if my sin. Amen
