Aretha had some heavy hangers
The stunning appearance of Aretha, dancing in an orange top, under a fishnet covering, gave an impression that she was wearing much less.
This was an appearance during her later Atlantic Records period, as her sales were tapering off. She released a soundtrack to the film, “Sparkle,” and this was the second of four singles, “Jump.” It hit #17 on the US Soul chart, and #72 on the US Pop Chart. The prior single, “Something He Can Feel,” had reached US Soul #1, and US Pop, #28.
Some online sources feature the brief performance on video, including some that show her interview with host Don Cornelius prior to her performance.
Definitely a sexy outfit!
