Albuquerque used to have a dance event every weekend at a water park. This is what it looked like to be cool in ABQ in the 90’s.

“Dance, Dance, Dance. It’s a teen thing” I remember that.
I miss those times.
Good to hear some Charli Baltimore up in here.
Notice no one is holding a phone
These kids are 40s-50s now. Much cry
Holy shit. I’m from ABQ and was a teenager at this time. I remember this like yesterday. Oh, ABQ girls.
Definitely some r/FuckMyShitUp cuts in that video
In the early 90s we had a filmed dance event at a roller skating rink. There was a super quick shot of me doing the running man in the background and thank god that’s all there was.
What’s songs this
The Beach.
Damn was looking forward to the dancing
I went to UNM in the seventies and I missed all of this. Darn
90s called. Looking for their eyebrows.
Music was awesome and girls naturally beautiful.
Kasa 2. Just opened some weird memories.
What surprises me is the fact that no one wears any branded clothes. No Nike logo, no high class fashion.
None of that – just pure style to express yourself. What a time to be alive
I wonder if my friend Hayley was in this. Lived in Bernallilo.
Trailer Park Boyz Porn Song in background…check
The ladies looking very nice, but the men looking absolutely cringe with their haircuts. One even sports a pubic shaped tuff on his forhead 😂😂
I don’t see anyone desperately texting on iPhones ! How refreshing…
That was my youth, being born in ‘83.
The funny thing is when you see footage from that time it very much differs from your memories.
It looks so old now but it didn’t feel like that back then of course.
I need to get a spaghetti strap tank top that fits looser like that. I forgot how much of a look that was.
The lack of phones, and maybe a couple of people with beepers, is just eerie. Actual eye contact and greetings to the camera.
Kent Brockman’s Eye on Springfield
The eyebrows.
These young kids can hate but the world was still better pre/smart phone
Is that the Beach? My family used to go there but it was gone when I was growing up. I remember Planet Fun though and the giant doll house you could play in but that’s gone now too.
It think it’s late 90s cause fo the song. Most of the kids are in early 40s. Crazy to see people dressed like that now.
We had it so good before covid19..
Kids are different nowadays. We used to drag main go to dances. Sit at the car wash on main street and talk. My small town is bringing back dragging main. One Saturday a month the parents are dragging main and the kids are to. I haven’t done it yet. I have kinda turned into a recluse. I used to not miss any social gathering. Now I get terrible anxiety when I go into the store afraid I’m going to run into one of my old friends. I went from most popular guy in school to scared to leave my house.
