A week or so ago a VIC-20 was brought into a GameStop as a trade in. I couldn’t let it leave the store which was a gamble… gamble paid off once the new cable arrived!

Noice!!!
Totally not related to the post but please tell me thats not your drinking water on the left.
How much you paid for it bro?
That’s so badass.
So recap.
Guy comes into GameStop looking to trade in his commodore VIC-20 he found in his attic of the house he just bought. Of course GameStop doesn’t even remotely accept this kind of stuff. I was able to see that it powered on, instantly. But I was unable to check video due to its electronics being so out of date.
So I bought it for $65. Brought it home, hooked it up and there was video, it was just very static. Unusable and glitchy. So bought a new cable, BOOM! We have crystal image and every key on the keyboard works! (Right shift sticks a little but hey, it’s 30+ years old!) I’m super excited about the time travel I’m going to whiteness with this!
Good move. Great to see it went to a good home. 👍🏻
What switches
This is fantastic! So glad you were able to get it running. And mow it’s time to get ready for your trip down Memory Lane in your awesome little Time Travel machine!
Enjoy!
Fire up Garden Wars on that puppy!
Interesting. Does the cable connect direct to HDMI?
