Cab Calloway was the *shit*
I thank the Blues Brothers for my understanding of who this is
I’m not sure if I’m remembering this story right, but I think he wanted his disco rendition of this in the Blues Brothers movie.
For anyone wondering why this seems oddly familiar it’s either because Cuphead was not only inspired by the animations of the times but also partially inspired by Cab Calloway himself, including being the direct inspiration for King Dice. Or it’s because of the Blues Brothers movie.
Cab Calloway would be 114 years old today. Here’s him performing the full song on the internet.
