800 years later, discovered by an advanced civilization, there will be a heated dispute between scholars whether being a wheelchair user was considered a gender in our time.
Few will be willing to accept the mundane reality that accessibility was a big issue before the invention of anti-gravitation belts.
Edit: changed a term
I’m sorry it’s probably me but the disabled person appears to be trying to get away from the others, it looks funny.
So it’s just a restroom
What a pointlessly verbose sign: Just say *Unisex*.
It’s a bathroom. Available for anyone. I am a vet old lady. Not once in my life have I ever been accosted in the bathroom. Well expect that one time my friend shoved Coke up my nose – I really didn’t mind.
I’m still confused, what about females who are disabled? They really need more graphics
Im an indutrial designer specialized in architectural wayfinding, and these have been popping up gradually for the last 2-3 years. Most academic building or healthcare centers don’t have female/ male toilets anymore. It’s all inclusive. I started to design my toilet signs with just that, a toilet. Instead of needing 4 différents pictograms to display the whole array of people who can come in there, I just put the intended use as a picture.
Here’s an idea. A sign that says “Restroom”. No symbols.
Disabled guys having none of it… He’s off
Sign that says, “Shitters for all” would have done.
Why not just say unisex?
So, call it a unisex restroom? Unless I’m missing something, I thought that unisex covered everything already.
It even includes super heroes!
So.. it’s just a bathroom.
I found this striking when I first traveled abroad. In The Netherlands bathrooms are just that, bathrooms.
Granted the stalls go all the way to the floor and are quite literally a closed room. But waiting in line to pee next to the opposite gender was totally normal.
Pretty cool.
Is being in a wheelchair a gender now?
Women, women in a light breeze, men, people proud of their huge asses.
Oh no, a restroom. I’m so outraged. /s
Where are you that shit like this is a new thing?
Ah yes, the 4 genders: female, female + male, male, *disabled*
Back in my day they were “unisex”
Somehow we 360’d right back to universal bathrooms.
Transformer is now a gender, confirmed.
The sign looks like a progression of someone removing a cape and racing off in a wheelchair.
Ahhh yes the 4 genders. Female, male, half female half male, and wheels
So it’s just like your house then?
Otherly known as just…a restroom!
Why not just say “restroom”?
That’s just unisex with extra steps.
The bar I go to has signs on the bathroom doors that reads, “whatever, just wash your hands”.
Wait till people find out they have a gender neutral bathroom in their own home
