Where did you get the information that Beth Currier made that scrapbook with her mouth? She has use of her arms and hands.
Thanks submitter, that was a interesting picture
Made with her mouth? Looks like she is using her hands in this picture.
Wow, thank God we don’t have to deal with polio anymore
But vaccinations are an imposition on my rights!
I love how his expression shows that he is looking through it with real interest. He looks like a genuine man.
Yeah.. Vaccines are awesome.
I heard this affected Elvis quite a lot, he stated later he was “All shook up uh uh uh”.
Sweethearts! Both of them.
I’m reminded of this movie that was kinda sweet. I fell in love with Diane Lane when I saw it.
Fun fact! Elvis was in large part responsible for the success of the polio vaccination campaign in the United States. He was the public face of the movement. Got vaccinated on camera and everything.
It always blows my mind how the word handsome doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface when describing Elvis.
I’m straight af, but damn I totally get it why girls would faint in his presence.
“And that’s why Elvis was The King, and you were just a shmuck!”
If this story is true, courage, persistence, dedication, heart and a slew of other factors got that one of a kind masterpiece finished.
14, just the right age for Elvis.
Your heart goes out to those two girls. They seem so sweet. Obviously Elvis felt the same. Elvis did a lot of good for this world. A genuinely nice young man.
I never really got into Elvis because I was adolescent when the Beatles exploded onto the scene. But it’s worth noting that he heavily influenced the Beatles and they were starstruck when they met him. The other thing is just how incredibly handsome this guy was in his youth. It’s a shame that he became drug addicted and that he never played UK. Another thought that occurs is that his home, ‘Graceland’ is a shrine to millions every year which in my book makes him equal in terms of legend status as the Beatles.
Wheelchair girl doesn’t seem paralyzed from the waist up. Her arms look fine
Polio is one of the biggest examples of how important vaccines are. My dad grew up in a time when more than one kid in his class ended up with polio.
Young Elvis was a different man from what he turned into.
He sure was a handsome young man…
It was that day he found out, in fact, “what dat mouth do”.
…I’ll see myself out.
Love Elvis
Thank you, thankyouverymuch
My mother apparently spent the whole day interviewing Elvis impersonators for my grandma’s 80th birthday this summer.
Her arms don’t look paralyzed to me…
I want to know what became of these two. Were their names recorded?
My grandfather had polio and got sent to a different continent so the “mountain air” would cure him. It’s wild how far medicine has come
Damn that ticket was handsome
This really is cool. The look on his face, he is genuinely appreciating the work that went into this
He seemed like a really respectful, genuinely good person until the Memphis Mafia started calling the shoys. Where are today’s equivalent stars, do they also do this?
Her mouth was very much still in play
