Uh, who DOESN’T?
A very experienced coroner whose both completely desensitized and out of shits to give.
The same guy who eats a sandwich while doing an autopsy
To you it’s a gory emotional scene.
To the doctor it’s just another Monday morning and he needs his pickmeup after that rough weekend.
Every coroner ever
It adds flavor
Make sure you dismember all of the bodies before you pick up the Captain’s RIG.
Anyone who works nights
In the wise and immortal words of Dog Fashion Disco:
Within the pale white walls
From 9 to 5
Day after day
I feel no more alive
Than the stiff that lies the table before me
Wake up too early to twist the key
Stumble on over to the Mr. Coffee
Pour myself a warm black existence
A Game of Thrones character……
I worked for a body removal company. Bagging up and bringing the deceased to morgues and mortuaries. Sometimes I assisted with the embalming.
Everyone ate in the room.
If that’s their job, only you care about it. To them, it’s their caffeine and that’s it.
I worked as a funeral director assistant for a couple years. While I haven’t seen a coffee on the table I have definitely seen coffee mugs in the room…. I have often taken my lunch break in my van with some ripe stiffs in the back during the winter… Not ideal but you gotta make do. Can’t say I ever got used to the smell though…
Folks cut open bodies and you’re confused because they drink coffee? Lmao
Thats actually pretty common
… you don’t bring coffee when you’re messing with dead bodies?
Medical Examiners don’t give a shit, its just another day. Once you’ve been around enough dead bodies you don’t even think of them as people, just something to not trip on or slip on.
While in medical school I was in the cadaver lab with someone that would chew gum all the time. As you aren’t allowed to have food, drink, or chew gum in the labs, she would put the gum behind her ear while working on the cadaver and start chewing it again afterwards. Regrettably, several times I saw her hair in the preservative/bodily fluids and she simply tucked it back behind her ear and kept going. 🤢
You don’t know many morticians do you …. All of them
I would 🤷♂️
It’s a job so the coroner.
It was left there by mistake. Remember the GoT Starbucks cup snafu?
What do you mean? All of them past their second week on the job.
And my friends called me crazy for eating pizza during an autopsy, go figure
I have a friend who used to be a mortician and ate lunch around the cadavers…they are a strange breed.
“After this autopsy I’m gonna be up all night and shitting myself anyway, so…”
I remember there being a Boost Mobile commercial years ago where the mortician dropped a breakfast burrito in the cadaver. I don’t remember too much else about the commercial, but that has lived rent free in my head.
Probably every coroner ever
If it’s my autopsy it’s my coffee.
Have you been around people with these kinds of jobs? It’s all procedural. It’s work. Why not have coffee during work?
Anyone? Dude it’s work to someone.
Coffee all the way!
here. it’s a mix of being used to the smell and not giving a shit
The game is [Dead Space remake](https://www.uhdpaper.com/2022/05/dead-space-game-remake-4k-1781j.html?m=1) btw.
Im pretty sure every mortician and Coroner does this.
Uh. Everyone? What, do you think the shit you do at your desk when you’re not _actively_ doing your job is any different than what anyone else does at _their_ desk?
This guy
https://psychusa.fandom.com/wiki/Woodrow_Strode
Somebody who has seen continuous violence and no longer gives a shit.
“FFS guys, this is an autopsy, not Season 8 of Game of Thrones!!”
Every medical examiner or forensic scientist working in post-mortem
People have been known to eat in the toilet. Soldier’s have ate food next to dead bodies,… perspective and normalcy (and some desensitization) will make these types of things a non factor.
