He later married a woman named Heather. It was a disaster!
Ladies and Gentlemen… Billy Preston.
Ringo totally took the hit on this one. Heather did him dirty
Adorable
Ringo is so, so chill. I have a ton of respect for him after watching how he handled himself in this documentary (by Peter Jackson, btw). He’s just always up to work, doesn’t bristle at the egos involved and the requests made of him, and always has a solid groove for whatever song they’re working on. 🖤
She’s dressed the same as Ringo… So cute!
Cute, and her sense of rhythm is good!

I have seen a fucking lot of Beatles footage over the years and I swear I like Ringo more after every bit I see
Ringo is the best
Sixth best drummer in the Beatles now…
Damn, she stays on time pretty consistently.
What the, her playing is in sync with ringo??
Those finished songs are sealed in my brain and it is strange, and also kind of enjoyable, to see these fellows really at their workplace, putting them together.
Assuming that’s also her art hanging on the wall behind her?
It’s so funny: The Beatles are such a part of the fabric of modern Western Culture that its sometimes easy to forget one fundamental thing: for all of their fame, fortune, mythology and cultural impact, they were first and foremost 4 blokes who were really good at playing their instruments.
You could throw away all of the other stuff and these 4 guys still had the barebones skills.
Aww the little matching outfit
What I found most amazing about watching Get Back was how they just wrote so much on the fly. And there we were for decades trying to dissect their lyrics for secret meanings. 🤦
Ringo looks so tired, what a saint!
Ringo is the fun uncle of The Beatles
What’s so crazy to me is that they’re all only a few years younger than I am now and they’re about to leave behind being The Beatles. Absolutely nuts.
That scene was so lovely. Ringo really is delightful.
Wild to see such old footage in such high resolution.
Damn, look how crystal clear that video is
My dad was a rock and roll drummer from the the 60’s and 70’s. He always said Ringo was the best drummer of all time. Not the most technical, not the heaviest, and not the most gifted. He was just the best.
Hard to imagine they were not yet 30 in this clip, and they were close to disbanding!
“I’ve farted. I just thought I’d let you know. I was gonna sit here silent and just look at you.” -Ringo Starr
How can anyone not love Ringo?
Some of my favourite footage from the zillion hours of docco.
Overall, it seems crazy to me how much those guys got pushed to create new albums constantly. For all the tension and dynamics and why Yoko is/isn’t horrible. They really just needed a manager who said to everyone (especially all the other record exec types), “hey everyone just chill, boys, go do non-Beatles stuff for a year or two, don’t even worry about it, then see how you feel”
I think everyone would have turned up in 72 or 73 and felt like having fun again. Their album pace was insane!
