I wrote a short essay on these guys in middle school. I had just watched a documentary about them on Discovery Channel literally the night before, and it was an open-ended question to write an example of the phrase “when life gives you lemons.” It wasn’t a very important essay or anything, but it was the first time I was so inspired to write something because I had remembered so much from the documentary, and it felt like words were just falling on the page. The teacher spoke to me after and said it was one of the best essays she’d ever read.
I guess I owe these ants for that memory. They are honestly really cool and I still think about them.
