To anyone who’s played TO: LUCT is the writing (not translation) up to this standard? With the TO Reborn leak I’ve been waiting for a fortuitous opportunity to play this and it seems soon.
Oh man, I lost a lot of game progress because of this battle as a dumb teenager in ’98 lol. I ended up going 5 lancers for this battle in my second encounter.
The worst thing about this scene is that you know you did this to Wiegraf. You drove him to cynicism by, in your naïveté, crushing his revolutionary movement in the name of a corrupt and degenerate monarchy. His despair is what made his possession by the Lucavi possible.
This man’s fallen victim to the negativity bias, legit out here thinkin the majority of people are useless sheep and shit. “Oh just uncover the layers of bullshit you’ve been fed since the day you were born and then overthrow the government, it’s not that hard.” Cmon now, you know it aint that cut n dry.
That fight haunts my dreams. Since it was “game over” if Ramza died, I decided to level everyone else on my team and hold him in the back like the king in a game of chess. I learned a valuable lesson that day…

My favorite game in the woooooorld.
Hopefully you have copies of your save file before this scene.

I have long held that FFT was the Shakespeare equivalent of gaming.
For those who know, that after credits scene.
For those who don’t, play through the game and find out. In decades of gaming, I’m not sure I’ve discovered anything that compares.
I’d love the next couple of lines in this quality as well. They are just as important as these.
Amazing game. Hard to wrap your head around the plot and the meaning when you are 13. Also this fight was so brutal
Finally a real FFT quote
that damn finath river still haunts my childhood memories. love me some fft
Nothing like saving before this battle under leveled…….
Time to start over…..
If you’re going to play this game (Final Fantasy Tactics) play the War of the lions version. The added cutscenes alone are worth it, plus more jobs!
Final Fantasy Tactics was deep…real talk.
It would be incredible if we could play it on Switch.
This mother fucking fight took me weeks to beat.
Wiegraf filled the void of the absent father in my teens when playing this game. I am the cynical person I am today because of him.
I will always be rooting for the Ramzas of this world though.
I feel like FFT is top 10 in its category
This is the battle that separated the boys from the dual-wielding monks.
Oh man, I lost a lot of game progress because of this battle as a dumb teenager in ’98 lol. I ended up going 5 lancers for this battle in my second encounter.
I’ve played the classic titles, but haven’t finished the newer PSP ones (I don’t know, seemed kiddish at times).
FFT on PSX, Tactics Ogre on SNES, Ogre Battle on SNES, and Ogre Battle 64 on the N64. Holy shit, get ready for brutality. Those games are SO hard!
11 year old Me, wiping Cheeto dust off my fingers: “Yea man”
I’m reading all these comments about getting soft locked on this fight.
As a gamer, but one that didn’t play this game, I’m interested in knowing what exactly happens here that made so many people have to start over?
Well looks like I’m playing FFT again.
Still one of my favorite games.
Final Fantasy Tactics radicalized me as a child.
See, I was an N64 kid back in the day.
Finally I understand why all the Playstation kids suddenly became anarchists and demanded we overthrow the state.

And to think i use video games as an escape

Shit, video games taught me how to read, orbital mechanics, aerodynamics, structural engineering, and a shitload of other stuff
FFT is still to this day my favourite FF game. It was really great.
Easily the greatest FF game of all time.
One of the greatest games ever
And I’ve spent years trying to find one anywhere near as good (sighs in *Disgaea*)
That fight haunts my dreams. Since it was “game over” if Ramza died, I decided to level everyone else on my team and hold him in the back like the king in a game of chess. I learned a valuable lesson that day…
This scene taught me the importance of multiple save files
Not gonna lie, Wiegraf was based as fuck, and the best villain Final Fantasy ever had.
I enjoy the occasional turn based strategy game, is this the right Tactics game to try out?
I am a 14yo libertarian an this is deep.
