The nice thing about Nintendo first party games is that you can resell them for about the same price you bought it for. They hold their value pretty well.
How about buying _Mario Kart 8_ because Mario Kart is the single greatest party game ever invented, then quickly noticing that 4-player split screen is 30fps—a bizarre and crushing downgrade from the high-tech days of the Gamecube—and then waiting three years for the game to get ported to better hardware… only to see that Nintendo decided upgrading to 60fps would have been too much hassle.
Yeah. I think we all prefer the Nintendo of yesteryear.
Don’t understand why Nintendo does this, it’s legit bad business for them. Imagine how many people would buy a 5 year old game like Breath Of The Wild today if it were like $30 instead of $60.
As an avid Nintendo player: you know it’s still worth it. You can play Nintendo games for hundreds of hours and not find a single bug or glitch or any such thing. Of course they exist, but without looking them up on Youtube, you generally don’t find any. And that’s a level of polish that no other Triple A game dev even tries to reach.
I got 6 games on the eshop for the price of 59.50 resident evil 4-6 and the first three dmc games it’s only kinda related to this but I still wanted to share coz it was a amazing bargin
I really wish Nintendo was better at game preservation. at least those $60 titles are ones they’ve decided to let live. having to trawl eBay to get some old NDS or GC classics for 100 bucks or more is ridiculous. no wonder people just emulate.
Arghhh are you not using dolphin or vgba?!
With inflation it’s still cheaper 😂😂 ohh… I made myself sad..
I was worried this wasn’t going to be posted for the 23rd time today but thankfully OP came through for us all and with a few hours to spare no less.
Buying a Nintendo game in 2011 for $50.
Buying the same game 10 years later again for $60.
What’s the deal with that anyway. Do people only collect Nintendo games?
I mean with inflation, you probably saved money.
Download an Emulator and get all of them for free. HAHAHA!
Yeah, because no other games get more expensive with time. Let me go tell my PS2 Rule of Rose that 🙄

I think I that’s is actually cheaper if you account for inflation since 2011 so you’re just being fiscally responsible lol.
I mean yeah…I would wait too if I could get them for cheaper 10 years later.
The real ones are the guys who could’ve spent $40 on a ds Pokémon game and now have to pay $120 for each one.
Ahh my favourite game company Shitendo
Forgot about last of us remake nerd
Technically cheaper due to inflation.
Wait 11 and it’s no longer available by legal means (except second-hand collector’s edition)!
I spent $60 for an NES game in the 80’s and $80 for an SNES game in 1992.
That’s ok i’m only gonna buy Zelda anyways since Monster Hunter is releasing on PC
Uh… originally brand new released Super Nintendo video games were $89.99 USD.
Needless to say all siblings in the household had to get good scholastic grades in order to earn a video game.
Me waiting for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorer of Sky Remake be like:
Indeed
I may have acquired many of them at no charge.
Time to use some emulators
Due to inflation $60 today is worth less than $50 back then…
Edit: sorry for spoiling your post, and yes I must be fun at parties…
I remember when this year in a store in Italy, they put Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for only 25€, they lasted for only an hour lol.
Bruh, Don’t call us out like that! Reeeeeeee
In 2011 I didn’t have a job and was a senior in high school with 10 buck a week allowance. I couldn’t afford much for games lol

It feels like the idea of this meme died when I got a switch and started buying Nintendo games.

cries in purchasing Pokémon SoulSilver in box for 100 dollars

But that $60 is now worth $30
Me waiting for mario kart ds to go down in price.
Yar har fiddle dee dee
Buying a Nintendo game at 50$ 10 year ago.
Then sell it at 200$ 10 years later.

good, it’s cheaper! inflation is going crazy so..
More like waiting 10 years until it’s $100 or more, in the case of GameCube lol.
I’ll never stop regretting selling my collection when I was in highschool for basically nothing. Such an idiot.
When I sold Pokémon XD CIB back in 2012, it was worth like $40 CAD. Now I want to buy the game desperately and it costs $240. Just fucked
I feel attacked.

Thanks to inflation , still cheaper overall .
Nintendo game in 2011 for $50
10 years of inflation actually makes this a slight discount. 50 bucks in 2012 money is actually 63 today
Yeah, we didn’t “just” have 20% inflation in the last 10 years, this sounds in the low side.
Inflation adjusted it got cheaper, I.e. it only went up in nominal price, it’s actual price is down.
