Film Critic and Director Chris Stuckmann discusses the “Video Game Adaptation Curse”, and why it has long been time to move on from that narrative. With the release of HBO’s The Last of Us, a common marketing narrative is how “this is the show that finally breaks the video game movie/TV curse” , but is that really true? In fact the curse was broken long ago, even longer if you consider anime adaptations and I feel this narrative is a growing problem with critics not seeing video games in same high regards compared to TV and Movies.
