I get that reference, I too watch MCU movies.
On the one hand, Cappy can only control the T-Rex for a short time before Mario gets ejected from it, so controlling the whole planet would probably be an extremely short experience.
On the other hand, the T-Rex is a powerful living creature that might be exerting resistance against Cappy and Mario possessing it, something that a planet is very unlikely to be able to do.
