I dunno, Wyndham was a great story teller but his stories were very much “of that time” and they don’t always get updated well.
The BBCs early 80s version of Triffids was good, the 2009 version not so much. I think the Cuckoos will have to be watered down or a lot of todays audiences will be “triggered” while conveniently forgetting that they in 2022 are 70 some years away from being the intended audience.
Stay close to the source material and it’ll be good, but I doubt they will and it’ll be another wasted IP.
