So honestly I don’t know how much is known about these guys, but I am on a nostalgia trip right now and this is by far their most listened to song with only 70k views. My dad loved these guys and listened to them so much when I was growing up in the car. Oddly enough he says this is his favorite song but the songs I remember hearing more was “Mr. Johnson and the Juice Crew” and “Down with the Ship”.
Anyway I gave their whole album a listen and I gotta say pretty good for a 1990s thrash metal band, also drunkin milkman should become a meme just saying.
Geez Louise, I haven’t heard this masterpiece since the mid-nineties back in the ZRock days!
Hilarious and talented band, saw them live
in DC around that time. Their classical music renditions (as metal) are great fun.
I had that album and only listened to the one song. I never in a million years considered it thrash though.
This whole album is a great blast of fun.
Drunken milkmen driving drunk,
Swerves on the curves.
Chevrolet heads his way…
A flash – A crash!
Milk and blood, blood and milk
Family of four, family no more.
Drunken milkmen driving drunk.
If you like this time travel a few years earlier when they were called Ludichrist. Even thrashier but still goofy
I wonder if SpongeBob took the into for ripped pants
Completely forgot about these guys! Now to find Mr. Johnson and the Juice Crew.
Loved this album as a kid. Cover art by the great SoCal pop art genius Robbie Williams.
Played them on my college radio show back in the day based on this song.
HEY DUDE! (I think I still have the CD.)
Had some friends over the other week for some food and drinks in the garden and for some reason everyone was taking turns picking their fave 90’s classics to play on the bluetooth speaker. It came to me and I’d had enough pop and RnB so I played this gem. It got some confused looks from my wife that read “I don’t even know who you are!”
Soundtrack to my early teens
Toehider did a tremendous cover of this with a “prog snob” version of Down With the Ship. Delightful
Huge hit here in Australia back in the day. I never bought the album but I had the Mozart Sonata #3 single which also had Mr Johnson And The Juice Crew and a cover of Titties & Beer by Frank Zappa, I listened to that tape thousands of times.
Just recently gave this a listen again – wore the cassette out when I first got it. Love “Dude” and all the tracks! Always wondered what became of these…dudes.
thank you for this!
Awesome! Love this from when I was a kid!
Got this on vinyl when it came out. Still have it somewhere in my collection.
I remember seeing these guys at an indoor skatepark in the outter banks.
Hey dude, don’t call me dude??? I haven’t heard this track in forever
Love these guys, talented band, I discovered them when I live outside DC mid 80s, a DJ on DC101 called the greaseman, would it if someone called him dude he played ‘don’t.. Call.. Me.. Dude’. Just the part they kinda chanted a couple times. Hunted down who it was and my love for scatterbrain was born.
Oh, I have this LP from the early 90’s right here.
Loved it. I saw them live opening up for Ugly Kid Joe (who were good, but I was there for Scatterbrain). Super talented, amazing musicians and hilarious.
Yo OP check out Green Jello/Jelly.
I had forgotten this song. Thanks for posting.
Omgggg I remember the ads in hit parader lol
This song was one of my fave comedy songs back in the day. The album that this song is from is pretty good. There is another of their songs called something about going down with the ship. It has their guitarist flawlessly replicating alot of well known classic rock riffs
Drunken milkman, driving drunk. Swerves on the curves. Family of four, family no more. Jeez I still have neurons for that album.
loved this song when it was getting radio play decades ago
One of the earliest songs I can remember seeing on Rage here in Australia. Awesome
Oh, wow… This song brings back memories.
Scatterbrain had 3 albums (I only know two of them, *Here Comes Trouble* and *Scamboogery*) in the early 90s.
“Don’t Call Me Dude” got a lot of airplay on Z-Rock in ’90 (god, I miss Z-Rock). Other good songs on that album were “Down With The Ship,” “I’m With Stupid,” the title track and a Mozart piano sonata played on guitar (it’s awesome, trust me).
It may be really hard to find a copy of the first album, as the label went out of business shortly after their first round of releases (among them, Nuclear Assault’s *Handle With Care*).
*Scamboogery* wasn’t as good. “Tastes Just Like Chicken” also got heavy airplay on Z-Rock, but the only other stand-out track was “Rondo Allá Turca,” another Mozart sonata (it is also awesome).
