Shouldn’t have done it.
Once he realized the gravity of the situation, his demeanor changed.
No one wants what happened to happen.
Yo don’t make him the villain. He had no clue the seriousness of the problem at hand. You truck someone you taunt. It’s been like that for ever. In almost all sports where hard physical contact is appropriate. After he noticed something was off he was just as concerned and prayerful as everyone else.
Looks like he is headed to the hospital in an ambulance
Can someone explain if a defender leans with a helmet its a plenty but if the offensive player does. It’s nothing
Just saw Peyton’s update. Buddha never lost movement or feeling and is going to the hospital for further evaluation and observation.
Yeah he totally wanted to knock him out you can see the way he led with the shoulder and afterwards confirmed his KO
Give me a break he didn’t do that shit on purpose idiots, wishing baker a very quick recovery

For those saying Cam Akers was in the wrong. I feel like this live clip in real time shows just how fast the play happens and how quickly he realizes something is wrong and is concerned. Heck the taunt wasn’t even that offensive to begin with but regardless you can tell he realizes something is wrong after a split second after and is concerned.
Dude he had no way of knowing how serious that was when he “taunted” him. Quit acting like dude I as being carried out on a stretcher and the guy tea bagged him on his way out.
He didn’t know the dude was knocked out. He made a great play and barely celebrated. This is a non-story.
Headline is opinion
Nah show afterwards where Cam is actually showing concern. Play happened fast and he had no idea Budda was out like that, show the full video before you make Cam Akers into a villain
ITT: A whole lot of ppl who never watch football inserting their opinion
Be fair, he had no idea Budda was knocked out, and when he saw, he was hovering there to see how Budda was doing.
Golden state keyboard warriors have showed up in the comments
It’s football… this shit happens…
Anyone who is making Cam out to be a bad guy here doesn’t know what they’re looking at.
Akers was out the entire season and made his comeback tonight in a playoff game against a divisional rival. In the moment after big contact like that, all he knows is that he’s kicking ass and it’s been a long time since he had the opportunity.
Once he saw Baker was hurt, his demeanor immediately changed.
If he was on defense he would be ejected
Do you think players will ever stop leading with their head/helmets like it’s a weapon? Not all hits can be controlled, but damn, no wonder there are so many head injuries.
I have a friend that insists football should be played without helmets. Yes, he knows it is unrealistic, but without helmets players would stop leading with their heads. Similar to rugby perhaps?
Yeah but only call l targeting on defense…
I hope Budda Baker in fully recovers. That being said…. Why the fuck doesn’t anyone know how to tackle anymore? Instead of wrapping someone up, they fly in like a human missile head-first trying to get on sportcenter top 10.
How is that not a penalty?
He’s just excited to be playing football after the Achilles. Im a Nole and Cam has never been a bad actor. He was on his knee and with helmet off moments later. Relax, the guy was excited.
What a shit fucking title
This headline is for clicks. Akers didn’t know he was hurt and clearly felt bad when he figured out what happened. Still should have been a taunting penalty though.
The tackle technique from the Cardinals player is atrocious, they rely on pads so much when better tackling would be a huge improvement on their game.
