here is how to easily tell especially for pictures like this.
Currently, video games arent doing a great job with “bokeh” (the foreground and background blur from certain lenses). They can add a blur to a scene, but that blur rarely has a gradient. Meaning that from the main focus of the photo you can see the blur gets more intense as you look deeper into the back ground.
Since most computers now just use “background blur” they just blur everything at a certain distance past the focal point. it doesnt get “blurrier” as you look deeper into the background. It all just looks like a flat blur.
This pic has a nice gradient fade on the left just below the bow that gives it away. Fake bokeh always looks two smooth because its just a blur with no natural interfacing from lens glass. It’s especially obvious in corners, where lenses have intense bends and curves, a computer will render a scene perfectly flat.
I imagine we are less then 5 years away from having realistic bokeh, like it appears in a real camera
