There’s a certain slant of light
The photo are left is traditionally considered to be “the only“:photo known of the reclusive poet, Emily Dickinson, nicknamed “The Belle of Amherst.” The photo to the right is likely an unverified photo from a later date. She is considered a major figure in American poetry. Her work still inspires today, but she interestingly asked relatives to destroy her letters and writings upon her death. One wonders what writings did not survive.
