BTW, does anyone know how to take care of a possum? He’s bleeding on his arm and chest area.
Update: I dropped him off at a wildlife center. They’re taking care of him!

i’ve had cats my whole life and they’ve always been way happier and more satisfied when we let them outside during the day
Off topic but I read somewhere that possums are immune to Lyme disease and rarely get rabies. Perhaps they are the key to “curing” those diseases?

For anyone else that comes across a baby that is 7 inches or less and the mom doesn’t seem to be around, 1- keep it warm! Towel, a heating pad, or a hot water bottle wrapped in cloth. 2- pedialyte mixed with water and a little honey, karo syrup or sugar and 3-if it’s covered in fleas, wash with dawn dish soap and then maybe a quarter pill of capstar in cat food. Then call your local wildlife rescue. Glad you helped this little baby!!!! You’re awesome!

Please keep house cats in the house. They decimate wildlife every year.
The noble opossum is the only native marsupial in Texas. This majestic creature will eat all sorts of pests. It is also known to to be an enthusiastic fan of Nickleback!
