Non Americans, have you heard of a “night loop”? I’ll explain it to you. Basically when our children’s channels shut down for the night, they display some animated test card that loops all night, this is an example for a channel called Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (currently known as JeemTV)

Extra info: the soundtrack is not the correct one.
This ident was broadcast from January 16, 2009 to sometime in October 2012.
Usually there would be text here that said “come back at 6am” or something, in Arabic, at the beginning and end of the ident
We have this in germany (“nachtschleife”, literally translates to night loop) with a character named “Bernd das Brot” (Bernd the Bread), he is kinda stuck in a loop where he most often gets psychologically tortured in a way lol… There have been many different ones, gere is an example with the topic being about social media:

I am not sure if this is still shown nowadays as I rarely watch tv anymore, but I remember it a few years back being on every night.
Edit: it sadly has no subtitles, but when watching you get the jist. The computer is forcing him to participate in social media when all he want to be is alone.
Even kid’s channels are 24/7. ‘Merica!
how do they make money? In Murica we run 24/7 and if they need filler, infomercials! Also, after about 1am some of the infomercials are from Adam & Eve. Who knew????
American broadcast television used to do the same sort of thing (decades ago). Late at night, they’d simply put up a title card and display the same (mostly static) image until the station came back on the air in the morning.
Denmark has a similar thing at night on their DR kids channel. They are usually videos of people “asleep” and “snoring” softly.
Candle Cove
Hmmm this is really cool. All kids channels should do this, little Timmy doesn’t need TV at 10pm.
I might have to figure out a way to recreate this when my kid is old enough for a TV.
Here are some more examples that I found:

[Tiji (August 2016)](http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=24612)
[a different version of the exact one I posted but in 4:3 and with the original soundtrack](http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=9258)
[Gulli (sometime in 2008)](http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=7009)
[Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (September 2005)](http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=2474)
[Canal+ Family (July 2011)](http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=26498)
[Canal J (2006)](http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=3433)
This looks like it would be a really fun game.
