Where does the term nerf even come.from anyways. What about buff? I guess obviously buff mirrors being swole/buff.
Healer swole me
Maybe it’s because of that weird law about words entering the public lexicon can’t be trademarked. Nintendo has dealt with that before with people calling any game system a Nintendo
Make nerf guns stronger
I honestly can’t think of a better word. Sorry man… It’s Nerf, or nuthin’.
It’s Nerf or NOTHING man!!!
So what I’m hearing is Nerf is trying to Nerf Nerf?
This made me laugh because, in the weird touchiness of the world these days, I could see this happening, especially if Elon Musk was the CEO…. Though he’d just call us all pedophiles or something equally as sideways.
But… nerf is literally soft bullets. As opposed to airsoft.. or real guns.
Also unfortunately that will never happen. It is engrained in society
Nerf CEO…meet the Streisand effect.
Nerf guns are only fun when you replace the guts
My older brother would replace the springs with his old airsoft gun springs. Then they were fun
One of his friends had a fixed nerf gun that could go through drywall
If this were real, that’d be hilarious and like 3 decades too late.
It’s not weakness it’s harmless. Different.
I actually hoped this was real
I mean dartzone is making commercially available blasters that double or more the fps of nerf blasters so I mean nerf really needs to step their game up
Way to miss an opportunity to embrace the nerf.
Nerf wants to nerf the term nerf.
Nerf guns are nerfed versions of real guns.
I feel like this is a healthy distinction for a children’s toy.
This just in: New nerf guns now use NATO round in an effort to be “less weak”
NERF just needs to start making stronger weapons.
Smart man would embrace it.
The amount of people who thinks this is real need a nerf real quick
Like didn’t the whole use of nerf come about from competitive FPS games where a new balance patch would make a previously good gun seem like it’s dps was downgraded so much that it might as well be a nerf gun? Pretty sure I started hearing back in the early 90s with games like quake and original counter-strike mod.
I should start a toy gun company called buff and make the best guns you can buy.
Rather they stop nerfing weapons cause some crybabies can’t handle dying in a video game, that’s the real solution
That’s funny because I grew up with nerf toys and never associated the two in my brain, something being nerfed in a game didn’t automatically conjure up the toys lmao it was just a phrase we used
Brian, if you read this, you should be proud. We’re using the word correctly! The etymology of the word as a verb is *directly* related to Nerf being safe and non-threatening. Nobody fears getting hit by a Nerf dart, or a Nerf bat. That’s the point. Nerfing something in gaming follows a similar suit: You take an overpowered, clearly hardcore or dangerous ability, item, or other thing, and make it less of a threat. Usually gamers experiencing this phenomenon will claim that the change makes something *wholly* ineffective at the purpose of the game (like nerfing Cupid in Smite, so now he’s one of the least impressive hunters).
“Please, no more free marketing”
y’all remember when [Nerf released a video game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZKZNpwjAxk) that was basically a reskinned Unreal Tournament?
How did the onion taste, OP?
Free publicity, sounds awful!
They’re gonna rebrand as a new name, and then that name will become synonymous with nerfed guns that get changed but are still weak af
Decades too late, my guy.
