    Hm.

I’m not really a fan of Whedon since everything that came out but this seems like a fairly balanced take from Fillion. It’s not what he saw, so he can’t really comment on it.

That was an interesting hedge on returning to Firefly. Twenty years on, their world and ours has changed. A bit of catharsis might be interesting.

So where can we see the full interview? It annoys me so much when they cut what is clearly a decent interview down to 4 minutes and half of that is them àdvertising their podcast! Did the interview happen on their podcast and if so why was Nathan fillion on a smallville rewatch podcast? AND does their rewatch podcast address the whole sex cult thing?

He didn’t say much, other than that he’d work with Joss Whedon again and he didn’t look very comfortable talking about it.

Who knows if he actually would, he has to balance the obvious respect he has for the guy that’s responsible for his career with the actions said person did.

I think he probably would out of a feeling of obligation, but don’t think we would EVER see Joss Whedon at the helm of a reboot so the point is probably moot. That being said, I’m not sure a firefly reboot would include Nathan Fillion either.

Also: What’s with the very jarring outro in the middle of the video? I thought it was over and had to ff to see the rest.

Michael Rosenbaum found his true calling with podcasting.

He’s one of the best. Fantastic interviewer who gets the most out of his guest in a natural fashion.

    Always enjoy his clips.

He’s pretty clear on that he didn’t see anything like what we have heard. Doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen outside his view or on other shows though he was also on the final season of Buffy while SMG and Michelle Trachtenberg were on it.

I always find it interesting when people expect others to disregard their experiences with someone based on others stories.

If he had a great working relationship with someone, and didn’t witness any bad behavior, why do people expect them to fully just shit on them.

People are varied. I’ve worked with many bosses, and for most of them, you have people who love them and people who hate them.

Was Joss Whedon an asshole to some people he worked with? No doubt. But it seems others had a pleasant time working with him. Why shouldn’t they be honest about that and say “based on the experience I had, sure I’d do it again”

I love this. Joss wasn’t a saint but I doubt very much it was all one-sided. Relationships don’t break down like that without barbs being thrown from both sides. Should he have risen above it? Perhaps. But he also shouldn’t have to take sh*t from demanding divas either (men or women).

I wonder if he’s been to the Nathan Fillion Civilian Pavilion in which Edmonton renamed their City Hall to.

From what I understand, Whedon was one of those people where if you were “in” then it was all fun and games, but if you were “out” it was a living hell. I can understand someone who may have been part of the “in” crowd who saw and experienced nothing but charm from Whedon, so if they’re talking exclusively about their own personal experience and were never exposed to the toxicity, their honest answer would be that it was great.

Hard to square with all the “smoke” around Whedon though. Because where there’s smoke, there’s fire. I was dismissive of the Fisher allegations partly because they were a lone voice in the wilderness for so long; he just came off as someone bitter that his role had been reduced in what was supposed to be his big break. But it was also partly because I am a huge fan of Whedon’s work and didn’t WANT to believe the allegations.

But after Carpenter and then others came forward, confirming Fisher’s accounts… it’s just too much to ignore. Something’s up. And while you can take a balanced view and say “hey, I saw none of that, my personal experience was great”, it’s also a little odd to effectively discount the experience of so many others and say you’d “in a second” happily work with someone who seems to have exposed a lot of people to some really toxic treatment. Even if YOU aren’t on the receiving end, do you really want to empower someone like that?

At this point it’s a shot in the dark but the only ppl if trust is amazon studios just based off their work on invincible and the boys. Seth Rogen is a damn work of art with some of these properties

I find it hilarious that people in this thread are supporting Fillion’s take on Joss Whedon. It’s clearly just because y’all like Nathan. If it was a celeb you didn’t like, you’d all be screaming about how they’re enabling an abusive piece of shit.
