Watched this so many times as a kid. Simple times 😅
For the sake of the younger viewers, they pretended that Luke Skywalker and Mark Hamill were two different people (cousins, in fact).

I was so small and I remember us having to rush home before 7 & in that moment it felt like the mist exciting thing in the fucking world. My older brother’s lost their minds.

Fun fact: That was the first live appearance of his Bespin fatigues.
Weird to think that at the time, this and the Holiday Special were pretty much the only real Star Wars related content outside the first movie.
This was the episode that introduced my son and his best friend to The Muppet Show. I wasn’t optimistic that they’d like it for long, they’re used to video games and explosions, but I hoped I’d get enough time to finish dinner.
They. Loved. It. Watched two more episodes (I had to explain who Christopher Reeve was). At one point, I had a pair of gangly 8 year olds gleefully Kermit- dancing in the living room. It was delightful.
