If I call tech support and it goes to an Indian call center, I already know it’s a waste of my time
Do not redeem!
Well made documentary on call center scams which essentially reports “this is why it started, how it works, and why it’s absolutely not going to stop anytime soon.”
Worth the 45 minute watch-time.
What worries me is online test proctoring. Those are all outsourced to India, and part of the proctoring process is verifying your identity. I’m always concerned they’ll take a screenshot of my ID. So much information there that you can use to steal an identity.
I’ve watched so many kitboga videos every time i walk past the gift card section at target i keep an eye out for any old grannies who may need an intervention.

Does anyone else think the journalist/writer at 8:15 [https://youtu.be/7CZReZ24-to?t=495](https://youtu.be/7CZReZ24-to?t=495) looks like an Indian Lady Gaga?
Fun story: Every time I call Comcast/Xfinity and talk to tech support they are unhelpful. They became so unhelpful and rude I started doing the stupid ‘surveys’ at the end where you can rate the interaction. I noticed every time I gave a bad rating, minutes later I’d receive a scam call from someone who had all of my information ready. Doesn’t take a genius to realize that when you give them poor ratings they ship your private info out to their scammers buddies to take advantage of you. Coincidentally when I give favorable ratings on the surveys I don’t get the follow-up scam calls.
that indian scambaiter’s american accent is trash. it’s just bananas that it works.
I actually encounter Nigerian scammers more often, alaye
I am glad that my telco usually has a potential fraud alert come up when they call my phone. I dont want to recieve these calls at all but it is better than nothing and helps me to not waste my time answering them.
I always hang up the phone when I hear an indian voice. It is racist, but it works.
The Indian accent must be really ingrained.. ive asked Indian people irl to do a any accent like Scottish, German, ect and its hilarious bc they can’t lose the Indian.
