I just found out that Tera has shut down all the servers for good. If I had known sooner, I would have put together the old gang and logged in, even just to tour the regions one last time. It was not the best MMO, not even close, but it was my first, and nostalgia bites hard.

Oh no, that sucks, tera was my favorite mmorpg, the only mmorpg that I’ve stuck with for years. I really liked the combat system. I had maxed out all the classes and got them the best PvE weapons, yet I still have no idea what the story was about lol
Wait, it did?! I fell in love with the game years ago. I’m just so happy to have left with the memories I did. Nothing quite like riding a Lion through an overpowered dungeon as an Elin with a maid outfit and a magical girl staff.
All Hail the Sky Whale! 🐋
Man I miss Tera when it was new on pc. I remember loving the combat so much, falling in love with the classes and the world. It’s crazy to think it’s done now and just shows as a friendly reminder that in this soon to be fully digital future you will eventually loose all of it at some point. At least my copy of Dig Dug has been dumped and I’ll have it till I go to the great respawn point in the sky. Long live great games!
TERA was a good one, for sure. Great combat and healing mechanics.
Art style wise, it was my favorite. The only one that came close was FF14 😀
i personally didn’t get into it hardcore, was really hard to justify paying for multiple mmos. did try it out and the combat certainly was enthralling for its time.
Tera was the closest I could get to Monster Hunter Online. MHO was only available in JP I think, and despite the huge fan service the game has, combat was something different. I mostly leveled every class but didn’t hit end-game content since 300+ ping isn’t a good environment to play an action-oriented game.
Got bored and managed to get the Platinum trophy for it when I got my PS5. Still remember playing it on the Korean servers before it launched in NA with my friends. Horrible ping but it was fun times for us as a group when it launched.
Loved the combat. But the engagement to the world and story were so weak. Love to see this combat on a ff14 story in a sort of love child thing.
