How close is this game to Mario Golf 3ds? I loved the 3ds game but this game seems a bit too gimmicky to me?

So fucking annoying this game has no decent replays with how the camera is zoomed in at the hole each time you watch. That and no team modes make this a low key let down coop wise. Decent Mario golf game outside of that.

Absolutely ridiculous
My first and only hole in one was during online play speed golf. Everyone was waiting to go because they didn’t want the others to blast their ball out of the way. I ended up going first and landed nicely on the green. As I was running up to my ball one of the other player’s power shots landed right behind mine and blasted it forward at the right angle into the hole. Even with seeing it right in front of me and “HOLE IN ONE” popping up, it took me a second to register what had happened.
