Had to run out to the truck last night and this was standing at my front door. So I have a cat now.

There is ALWAYS a reason for these things when they happen. You won’t find out right away but when you do you’ll know why you both found each other.

Fleas are a given, she’ll need multiple baths because you WILL miss a few and make sure she doest come into contact with any carpet or anything and the blanket gets washed

Fleas are the scourge of the planet

All 3 of my cats were rescued in various ways in different part of my life

weirdly enough, all 3 came when i actually needed them almost as much as they needed someone

i admit i felt to be “chosen” in a way, but after seeing how much they gave love back to me and my family, i think the correct term should be “blessed”

i had one cat before them, but i got it from a store where they just kept some stray cats and gave them away for free, i loved him as much as possible and i felt the connection between us, but i swear there’s something different when you rescue one yourself, they trust you like you couldnt even believe it.

Awesome, cats don’t drink cow milk (most are lactose intolerant outside moms milk) so get some kitten formula and/or she looks old enough to eat wet kitten food. We took in a stray who was pregnant so I raised 4 kittens along with their mom this year. Royal Canin makes a 1-4 month old baby cat wet food you can get at like petco or pet smart, etc. it can be mixed with kitten dry food too though she’s young to chomp lots of kibbles and they should be softened.

Make sure she stays really warm. Kittens can probably regulate their body heat by then but they still want to be very warm. Like a heating pad in a box would be great.

You rock. My first cat that was mine was from a person who found a litter abandoned and she was just 4 weeks when I got her. Looked exactly like your cat. Good luck.

Oh and we kept 1 kitten and the mom this year and now both are absolutely obsessed with me so you’ve got that to look forward to 🙂

“So I have a cat now” is how I got mine. Saw the cat outside, opened the door, cat got in. So I have a cat now. (Although she was already about a year old when she acquired me! 😁 )

Listen, if you’re going to be a pet parent, you need to learn the lingo. Your title should’ve been

    > So i have a cat _meow_

Same thing happened to me. Heard a kitten crying under the hood of my car. Tiny, dirty and hungry. Took her to the vet for shots and a chip and 8 years later she still lives here.

That’s how my moms latest cat started. Heard Mewing from under their camper, found two kittens. Mom was feral. They moved the 3 of them into the garage with a permanently open door. Mom was too feral, couldn’t be tamed. Once the kittens were old enough Mom went to a farm to be a barn cat, and the cats were split between my brother and my mom. Both are doing well. The kittens (now 4 years old) even see each other once in a while.

I’ve only had 1 experience with an animal showing up at my door with freezing temps. Big dog, trying to curl up out of the wind on my porch.

I pulled him in, tried to contact the owners (it was like 2am), no response. I ended up camping out on the floor in my sunroom with the dog that was clearly in distress. First thing next morning I drive the dog back to his home and the owners were thrilled. They had spent 6 hours driving around all night looking which is why nobody answered originally.

Black cats contrary to mythical beliefs are the sweetest and very very smart. They pick up on things extremely fast. My mom has three of them. One of them is lucky lucy, she is so smart, we recently moved to another home ,maybe two blocks from where we used to live and she out of the three blacks cats picked up on the fact that she no longer lives in the old house. And stays at the new house without us bringing her. Sooo smart, they are a little bit sweet and sour but wittiness is on point. And helps the two other cats to understand the same.

She is lovely and will give you joy for many years to come. You were meant to be together. Sure you think back if you had never gotten up to go out to your truck.
