LOL, I have to admit, I thought this post was in /r/vintageaudio which I follow, and I kinda got surprised by the number of people having no idea what they’re talking about with regard to this gear.
This is indeed a nice vintage setup with a McIntosh tube amp (more or less the Rolls Royce of stereo equipment) some nice separates, and some passable speakers with TERRIBLE placement but fucking awesome grilles.
Wow! Well done to keep it. Looks also very expensive in that time. Now probably worth MUCH MORE!
Threw mine (from the 1980s out many years ago. Now missing it as a relict.
However, I never felt the need for it since scrapping it.
That’s epic!
God bless analog
That McIntosh 275 amp is so amazing! Can’t imagine how much that thing is worth. Edit: $3,000.00 usd
Damn. And all of it now replaced by a single homepod.
If those are VFDs then it’s newer than 1960 – I don’t think there were VFDs yet in that decade.
I dig that cascade shelf system A LOT. Very proper setup.
I absolutely, positively need to spin some Thin Lizzy on that.

I’ve got one of the radios
Looks more 70s to me

Love me some McIntosh amps
I really like the look of 70s hifi equipment. Metal and wood. One day I’m getting myself an old system.
The McIntosh factory is near me. Upstate NY represent!
Now THAT’S a real stereo system, right there! That component with the tubes in it… is that part of the receiver unit?
That reel-to-reel really brings back memories. God, I’m getting old.
8 track?
McIntosh 🤤
Dem tubes 🤤
Is this a 60s photo or a modern day photo of someone’s vintage stereo. McIntosh is a great name.
That is some bad ass-ery !!!! Love the reel to reel.
I so wanna get a cabinet stereo with turntable someday. 1960’s era.
I grew up with my parents’ awesome wood stereo cabinet in the 1970/80’s. So many records blasted through the entire downstairs on that baby!
