I know someone out there would pay a fortune for this if it still works
Ah yes disk 5 of 10 /s
Part 1 is ancient
Part 2 is a classic
Still the greatest game ever made.
I bought it on Steam when steam first launched. Every one I knew was thrilled when it started pre loading
Oh man, I remember installing Half Life 2 the very first time…and Steam.
So many discs. And then? You didn’t have to use any to play it! CRAZY.
PC player here, haven’t seen a disk in over 7 years
Damn, I think I still have that too
Is half life 2 just whole life, because it has two halves
I still have the collectors box that I bought on release day upstairs with the original T-shirt inside. I remember skipping school to stand in line .. than spent 4 hours while steam “unlocked the files” but still worth it lol
Disc. FIVE.
And then after you installed all the discs, you had to update before you could launch the game. I’m sure it wasn’t a huge patch, but over 56k dial-up I think it took at least one if not two overnight sessions. Man this is some heavy nostalgia.
Take it you never seen a madcatz box with hl1 in it?
I trusted a Best Buy employee to buy it for me, I wasn’t old enough to buy it and the cashier wouldn’t budge! Dude said give me your money and I’ll go outside and hand it to you. Few minutes later there he was, I was so happy! Ran 4 blocks to go install it only to find out my Compaq Presario was a piece of shit 🙁
That’s how I got into building PCs 😂
Half-life, the Game of Thrones of gaming
Is that the CD Version? I’m holding my HL² copy in my hands right now and its only 1 DVD.
i hear that they will be making HL3 anytime soon, but don’t say anything as it’s a secret.
