I find most games on ps store are mad expensive
> EA
I mean, do you really have to ask?
Wait a few months it’ll go on sale
Do your job as a consumer and dont buy. Let it rot in their store
Wasn’t there a thing recently where devs were being forced by Sony to increase their prices?
Wait a few weeks after launch and the price will drop.
Just look at the recent Need For Speed which launched in December. Had the new higher launch price, but was on sale 3 weeks later for little over half price, and from key sellers well below half price.
Considering this is a remake of an older game only the diehard fans will be rushing to buy day one. Everyone else can sit back and wait for it to drop, or play it later when it joins EA Play / Game Pass.
Yep, that’s just like EA to piss on it one more time for good measure. I just hope the final product is an honest to god remake, not another low effort cash grab using a near dead franchise.
The price hike for new releases this generation is just praying on FOMO. Waiting is always the best choice, especially for single player
You’ll get a better price and benefit from the inevitable post launch patches
Literally everything gets more expensive*
Games are getting more expensive: *suprised pikachu face*
Ahh, I love PC.
I mean, EA needs to charge extra since it is not an “always online” title.
How could they ever pay their servers if the are not used?
I mean yeah it’s a lot. Don’t buy it if you don’t wanna or wait, like others have said.
With that said, people seem to be misunderstanding the value the purchase price has been at for a while. Doing some inflation math shows you that old atari games were like $120 each at today’s dollar. N64 was like 70-90. Then the 39.99 came and eventually moved to the 59.99, but really that was like 60-70. That held for a surprisingly long time, the two I mean…the 49.99 and the 59.99.
I’m surprised it’s going up too, but looking back at the cost and what we get now vs before I am not appalled. Price increases normally represented functionality jumps or increases in performance, but now I think they’re just trying to catch up to over cost game development cycles. That I do have a problem with, personally, if they’re trying to do the game cost inflation catch up.
It’s not a popular opinion, but yeah. Check out dunkey who talks about this at least in a couple of his videos too.
You could say they are dead serious
I paid $59.99 on Steam
This will be unpopular, but it’s the truth: Game prices have not increased since 2005 with the release of Xbox 360 and PS3. Before that, PS2 and Xbox games ranged anywhere from $20 to $50. PS1 games were almost all $20 to $30 from 1994 to 2000. So, in the 6 years between 1999 and 2005, the price of video games nearly tripled.
We have enjoyed 17 years without a price hike while inflation has increased 50% since then and games have become phenomenally more complex to develop. €80 is not unreasonable. €90 would be the price if adjusting for inflation.
EDIT: Apparently some of my PS1 pricing memory was incorrect. Fixed.
Fuck that.
Just wait for a holiday sale or Halloween horror sale. Duck paying 70 bucks for a game older than a decade.
Easter sales game for me I think
The reason for the high prices was so that people would go and buy in-store games. Did it really help in the end for people not buying digitally? no. How about they drop the digital prices now.
EA is serious and millions will buy it which means the cycle continues. Gamers have no one to blame but themselves.
a 3rd person single player remake of a 12 year old game? i mean its gonna be a great game but i guaranteed if you wait 2 weeks, maybe a month and you can get for way cheaper.
this is why they want to get rid of physical copies. control the cost a rip people
I usually wait for sale, most games go on sale about a month or so after launch now a days.
80 fucking Euro
that’s around USD$87
Dead space for improvement, it seems.
I was going to comment in depth but I just forgot I have to get on Epic and claim another free PC game
Its bc no one wants to spend money on in-game items in there dog shit games
Yeah, didnt you know? EA = Eats Ass
“Hello, I like money”
On one hand I like the game, and would like to support the devs.
On the other it’s EA, and if the game is a success the suits will demand a sequel with all the ea bullshit, fuck up the saga and forget it (again)
It’s high prices because of the ps store itself, PlayStation charges a ridiculous fee (don’t remember exact percentages here) and ea has to compensate for the losses they will have due to the fee
It’s 60€ on steam. Why is it 20€ more on ps5 ?
It’s €64.99 ($69.99) on US PSN. Not sure why it’s so much more there. That’s unfortunate.
I plan to just wait 6-12 months for it to be dropped on EA Play/Gamepass..
Full price for a remake? Likely 85% of whatever it ends up being, I’ve played already anyway. At least the RE2/3 remakes were only $40 in a bundle lol.
Oh they are boo boo give them fucking money you pay pig. Fucking EA man I hate that company with a passion now I rather just play the original dead space with yee yee ass old graphics
That’s strange even though it’s €80 it’s only $70 so if I had to guess it might just be something with the region
Gamepass
just buy the one from 2008 its most likely better
yarrr, time to start gaming on pc matey
Isn’t 80 EU a regular price for any AAA video game these days?
When it’s gonna be free on Xbox’s game pass?
A pirates life is a life for meeee
We’re going to $80 now??
You cant spell steal without EA
