Mario64 has similar graphics but better framerate which is funny. it’s been 27 years since then.
Pokemon Snap aged really well!
All these memes left and right about how awful the game looks and here I am considering a Pokemon game for once because I’ve heard the story and gameplay loop are pretty darn good.

The worst part is that the Pokémon graphics actually look solid. All the shots I’ve seen of Pokémon have been great. But my God the lack of texture on ground, grass, and basically any terrain is so sad

Fr there’s no reason why the gamecube spinoff games should still look better than the switch main series ones. I don’t wanna hear that bs about it being open world. Botw, xenoblade 3, and witcher 3 all shit on that excuse. Pokemon CAN look and run good on the switch. New Pokemon snap proves that. GF just needs more time or more talent.

The Pokemon games were better when they were pixelated. This game is an ugly and rushed technical failure from a lazy toy company raking in tons of cash from brand loyalists who would buy a literal brown bag with vomit in it, if Nintendo slapped the Pokemon logo on it and sold it for 60$.

The story and mechanics are rather solid. It’s just gamefreak being incompetent in the debugging and graphics as always.

i could forgive a lot but TBH arceus was better. if you had more trainer battles and throw some gyms in there arceus would be the pinnacle, no question.
catching random pokemon was ALWAYS rewarding in Arceus. S/V it’s just wasting your time till you find the one you want. there’s no gameplay loop that rewards you for your efforts
