“and take them ahead of Liverpool”

The score in the video clearly shows it went 1-2 (Liverpool ahead) after this goal.

what do you mean “take them ahead” this was the second leg.. at no point in the entire semi-final were Villarreal ahead of Liverpool..

When I was playing soccer/football, everybody had a role and these “sets” were setup in such a way to provide two to three scoring options. As a team, you just kind of had to ‘feel out’ the play and pick the best option. Eventually everybody gets their day. So when one person scores it is nice to let them celebrate, bc it was like their day to win. Next time it will probably be someone else.

Not to sound like a gatekeeper but does every goal with a decent passing sequence end up on r/sports now?

A lot of real pedantic folk in here complaining about the title not reflecting the aggregate. You all know what OP meant, chill out.

I have to say as a Liverpool fan I was hugely impressed by both Villarreal and their fans yesterday, they played an amazing first half with a lot of heart and, had the match gone on that way would have very much deserved to get into the final.

It was only through the adjustments made by our management at half time and the character of our players that Liverpool were able to turn it around, a feat made even more tremendous by the quality on display at Villarreal.

At the end of the game the fans were saluting their team in the most positive way possible for a small city of 50k people to have a team that has shown this level of character and grit to get to the semi final of a champions league tournament beating teams like Bayern Munich to get there is huge and I am privileged to have seen it.

I hope my team, Liverpool will take that example of excellence that Villarreal showed us as inspiration to go on and win it as for them hopefully there’ll be no shame in losing to the champions.

English and American fans scream “Yaaaaa” when they score. Spanish fans always “Ohh” like their shocked. Cool thing that interests me.
