Bangladesh’s first awaay win against a top 5 ranked Test nation, their first win in all formats In New Zealand, what an incredible win.
Not only were Bangladesh huge underdogs (New Zealand on paper are by far the better side), but Bangladesh came into this match in really rather awful form, suffering some demoralising defeats in home conditions. And so to come to New Zealand, one of the very best in the world )and home advantage is strong in Test cricket) and to thoroughly outplay them in practically every session is just incredible.

What does it mean to “script history”? Make history? I am used to not understanding cricket terms but this seems more like a general phrase that’s new to me.
Jeez your description makes it sound like much more of an accomplishment than the announcer makes.
Edit: This is worded weird my point is that the announcers don’t sound as enthusiastic as they should be for the occasion.
I didn’t realize test cricket was still a thing. I thought it was all about one days and T20.
EDIT: Seems I’ve angered the Test purists lol. I moved to the US in the 90’s and lost touch with the game but most of the cricket-related news I come across is about limited-overs cricket and that’s where the money is.

Cricket is the like the [2nd most popular](https://www.topendsports.com/world/lists/popular-sport/fans.htm) sport worldwide but so many people here know nothing about it (exact ranking doesn’t matter to my point. bottom line is that its popular). And it’s not like you should be expected to understand a sport you’ve never been exposed to, but cricket has to have the highest Popularity:ignorance ratio if you get what I mean by that.
