I can watch the sickest things being done to people, but if you hurt man’s best friend (and my best friend) I will end you like John Wick. I don’t think I can watch this.
I read a book recently about these North Pole expeditions and it was fucking horrible. I hope they don’t highlight how poorly these dogs were mistreated and I’m grateful this isn’t focusing on that appalling and abhorrent man Peary. Seriously, the animal abuse alone might turn me off from this film.
This looks really well done and I like NCW, but I might need to see some reviews and see what people on Reddit say before I dive in. It’s an interesting and somewhat unknown history, but it’s beyond brutal. Beware.
If you’re looking for a good time, look no further. Netflix’s coolest new movie is *Against the Ice*.
Set in Greenland and inspired by the fever dreams of an old timey Danish explorer, this movie has everything: man-eating polar bears, guns pointed at dogs, multiple scenes of prolonged suffering, the Lannisters. If you watch until the end, you’ll even get treated to “The Stranger.”
What’s The Stranger, you ask? It’s that thing when someone gets frostbite on their hand and can’t feel it anymore, and then they use it to rub themselves down there.
“…like we landed on the moon.” – what the fuck did they know about the moon in 1909? Didn’t they think it was made of cheese? I guess maybe some people thought it might have been a ball of ice.

I think Jamie Lannister went a little too far north
Looks well made, I can’t watch dogs being hurt!
That’s Jamie fuckin Lannister. And Tywin.
Those direwolf pups better all be alive at the end of this film.
I will be checking this out. It releases in March.
Reminds of *The Terror.* Seems really interesting with stellar actors.

I really liked Everest, so I’ll check this out.
Seems to touch on the same themes, but will get a little darker and deeper into it.
Looks good. I love movies like this.
Vibes of The Terror and the Erebus
I could have sworn that was Hugh Jackman.
this looks really good
not to seem overzealous, but definitely the best post-GoT work Nikolaj has done
Thats Jamie fookin Lannister
Looks pretty good.
NCW is a good actor and he picks some interesting roles. This looks dope.
Jamie and Tywin lanister
I have some The Lighthouse vibes after watching the trailer.
Does anyone know if this is a dollop? Seems familiar.

i assumed this would be a sequel to that Liam Neeson movie The Ice Road
I *really* want to watch this, but I have a feeling the dogs don’t survive and I’m not sure I can handle watching that. 🙁
So this isn’t a sequel to The Ice Road?!
That’s weird, a movie on Netflix that looks like it has cinematography like an actual feature-length film.
The must’ve purchased the film after it was produced.
Release dates :
February 2022 (Berlin)
March 2, 2022 (Netflix)

This looks great, but had to stop halfway thru. Netflix learn from marvel and stop giving away major plot points.
