Set a fire for me, I miss how it spread back then.
It’s the best Far Cry IMO.
I love how open and unprompted the world is. You wanna take down an outpost? Go right ahead, do it any way you like/can.
Did you manage to get it to run smoothly? I tried to replay it a while back but framerate is hard locked at 60,which is okay, but it had horrible input lag.
Then I got stuck in a room without a way to open the door…
Would love to be able to play it again.

I loved this game so much. Ambushing the weapon vehicle convoys with ieds was my favorite
Respawning roadblock simulator, it had a lot of good ideas but was so frustrating to play.
Love the tone of FC2; you’re bad guy sent in to catch a bad guy. It was sad when the series became a Technicolor hero fantasy.
Malaria bad, map bad, fire good, jamming fun and chaotic. Far Cry 3 better 😊
The respawning outposts killed this for me. I remember clearing one, walking literally like 100 feet on down the path, and being shot in the back by guys who had just popped into existence at the outpost I had just cleared literally two minutes before. I am pretty sure I uninstalled then and there.
If the checkpoint didn’t immediately respawn enemies, this game would have been perfect.
BLEEEEEAAAAARRRRRRGGBGHH!
You know what’s also great? Far Cry 3, 4, 5 and 6.
The mental masturbation that happens when you convince yourself new stuff is inherently worse is weird. They’re all great games with unpredictable characters and physics. They’re fun.
Man learning I had to take antivirals for Malaria was wild , made it the most realistic game to me at that moment
I don’t care what everyone says. I loved taking down enemy outposts at every opportunity, and having them respawn quickly was great.
The game was great! I miss the custom made multiplayer maps. I remember a D-Day one that someone made. A friend and I would play and it was insane.
Always liked the Jeeps in it
Far Cry 2 is *almost* the best in the franchise, but the endlessly spawning enemies is such a drag.

Malaria though. Annoyed me so much I installed. Played a few hours and quit. Twice.

Check out the mods for Far Cry 2. There some phenomenal rebalancing mods out there that make it a ton more fun to play; like making the enemies not be bullet sponges.
It’s the worst Fary Cry IMO. Still haven’t played 6 but 2 currently is the worst for me.
Enemies respawning right after being killed, guns jamming all the time and malaria just weren’t my cup of tea. Personally, 3 and 5 are my favorites.
Is it me or the enemy AI was better? I swear that once I threw a rocket launcher at an outpost, didn’t see any movement with my binoculars, walked to the outpost and then I heard a “Surprise sucker!” Or something similar and was ambushed by the NPCs. I’ve never experienced something that advanced in the next farcrys

Legit best Far Cry, in my opinion. Back when the series dared to be more dynamic and try different things.
FC2 is the only truly great Far Cry game imo. 3 was pretty shit and i don’t understand the praise it gets.
