There are three GameStops within 50 miles of me and I’ve been to all of them. None of them sell anything older than one generation behind the newest (PS4/Xbox One)..
Where are these GameStop’s at that y’all are buying SNES/NES games at?!
Blaster Master was my jam. It’s one of the only “Nintendo Hard” games that I beat without Game Genie and I was ecstatic when I finally pulled it off.
I have a lot of fond memories of Wizards and Warriors as well. The title theme song still gets stuck in my head from time to time.
Metroid was great but Snake rattle and roll would leave your thumbs worthless for a day . And after you finally made it to the top you’d get stomped on and smashed by this big foot. Only game that ever caused me to destroy a controller. 🤣
damn, even in the first years of gamestop i never saw nes and snes games there, my best haul at the time was a bunch of ps1 games, 1€ each, including Tekken1, Soul blade, Duke nukem 3d, Crash bandicoot and CTR all with boxes and not in platinum version.
literally grabbed on the counter after someone sold them all and employees didnt had the time to keep the good ones for themselves
To this day I remember the best SNES April fools prank for a gaming magazine.
Because the SNES version of Mortal Kombat didn’t feature blood, loads of people were gutted then one of the magazines released a cheat on how to activate the blood which involved some insane process and required a penny being sellotaped to the top of the cartridge.
I miss those old school used game stores. My favorite one had an awesome selection, and I remember they brought out the jaguar, which was like $500 new at the time. At first I was like fuck yeah! until I saw the gameplay. No thanks lol

I never played Flashback but every other game is a classic! I miss crushing my bros in uniracers race mode.
Uniracers was a blast back in the day to me.
Unitacers just put me off never tried it never plan to.

PilotWings is a real Gem
My nostalgia senses are tingling. He even has the receipt. Respect👊

Remember when you could buy retro games from big chain game stores? Before ebay took over and made everything so expensive.
I appreciate that Used sticker. That way you don’t confuse it with a regular on the shelf version of Wizards & Warriors for the NES.
Wizards and Warriors is one of my favs. Even that awesome beginning melody.
Excitebike… man I loved that game as a kid!
Flashback $13
Out of This World $15
Mortal Kombat $ 13
Mortal Kombat II $15

I have never seen tall SNES cartridges. Why are they tall? Do they have more memory or something?
Wizards and Warriors. Man, I loved that franchise. One of my first favorites.

I forget peoples names minutes after they tell me, yet somehow i still recognized Out Of This World by the label art. Brains are weird.
