If they weren’t coming up with clever signs, I’d be siding with management
What is the conflict here in a nutshell?
I say pay them whatever they want if it means we won’t have a resurgence of shitty reality shows.
Annyong
I totally read that in my head with her voice
RIP
Henry Cavill fought at every step to maintain accuracy based on the source material. The lead writer showed nothing but contempt for established character personalities and plot. It was wasn’t worth the effort so he jumped ship.
Edit: screwed up the reply. This was meant in response to the witcher series comment thread. Its an exception where the adaptation of the material was subpar because of the lead writer. I fully support the writer strike.
Listened to Fatman Beyond (one of Kevin Smith’s podcasts that features Marc Bernardin) and they said the Teamsters president agreed if 2 or more WGA members were picketing a studio or set, they would refuse to drive the trucks in, basically shutting down production.
At the rate things are going, bananas are soon going to literally cost $10, and that joke isn’t going to make sense anymore.
I was expecting blank signs.
hey you stole my username
Can anyone tell me how much were the writers making on average? Thanks!
Stop making writers do math? What does that even mean?
“You want clever signs? Pay your writers!”
Wait, is this a paradox?
Here’s some money, go see a star war
TWO PERCENT! That’s all they’re asking for.
It’s almost like that picket line is full of people who know how to write funny one-liners
If there is any group I’d expect to come up with witty protest signs…
For me, Heroes only had 1 season.
Can’t even be original, you would think they could write something clever.
Did she write that line so she could make that sign one day?
RIP
Good for them. More workers in other industries need to follow their example and start advocating for their fair share.
You’d think they’d be able to write better slogans.
If this is an example of their quality of work, I can understand the studios not wanting to spend more money on them. You’ve got one sign demanding not to do math, and another simply copying someone else’s joke. This is exactly what we’ve come to expect from TV shows. Nothing remotely unique or inspiring.
They need to write better scripts first.
Jesus… what show does the woman in the baby-shit green shirt write for?!
lmao learn to code
How much do you want to earn for writing yet another remake?
I’m not sure if every job that creates something that continuously makes money for the business should be entitled to residuals, or if writers shouldn’t expect special treatment.
Lol writers can’t math.
What’s the math one about?
I’m not sure I understand what the math one is supposed to mean. My only guess is that if they’re paid more they won’t have to budget as carefully? Anyone know for sure?
The people who wrote Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop should never work again in Hollywood.
gotta say, I’d expect better signs for the writers for this strike. instead all i see are rehashes of jokes and lines from other movies.
All I know is they better have the best signs to ever sign.
They suck. Give me AI shit at this point
I love a good strike. Unfortunately this one seems pretty lame.
