The strategy was always go for the high ground
I’d just pick a color, go to the top, sit on the bubble and throw whatever I get to the bottom. Always works.
I would constantly drive in circles on the middle bridges
I… I… I… remember. Thank you for this. Truly
YES! I loved playing battle mode. The bottom was always no man’s land with shells flying everywhere
BLOCK PLAZA!!!
Yes
And friends became enemies
“Simon Says” was such an underrated gem of a toy.
My crews rule was if you get a green shell you need to shoot it off immediately. The bottom layer would soon become a death trap if you fell from your tower. Also the yellow tower camouflage the banana peels really well
Haha oh man, it’s battle time boys.
Block City Shine Thief
The best
I would just camp Cubes and get as many green turtles and bounce them off walls. They will keep bouncing until they hit each other, banana or a player. So minutes after shooting them off I would get hits.
Battle mode was probably some of the best multiplayer hours I had growing up.
Good times
Some of us men and women learned our skills on the SNES original, OP.
Come back when you can hunt someone on the SNES Battle Course 4
I’d love the next entry to have a huge focus on battle mode with tons of maps and some new unique mechanics and modes but also the classic setup too.
Green OP
In the beginning there was Warlords

Only battle only block fort. That was it. Hours and hours. I truly believe I was the best in the world at this.
Red shells baby
Where friendships end.
This reminds me of The Parking Lot level from CTR
The Mario track pass needs to bring some new battle maps.l and this one back.
Pfft.
SNES version is the best version.
Every other version took it further and further away from any actual “skill” at playing
Mario kart I think is one of the first games I played
Or whiny little babies because they got beat by a girl. 😅
This was on the DS too! Spent hours behind a couch playing this and you’d blow on the screen to get additional balloons. Crazy tech back then for the microphones and all. I remember the DS days.
Such a great map with lots of strategy
I was an absolute monster, true to my main, Wario.
I would get the boost at the start and cream you.
I knew how to neutralize the red shells using terrain.
I would watch you in my periphery and hunt you down.
I could hit you with a green shell from virtually anywhere.
You would never win.
Mario Kart 64 right?
Where men became babies.
Fuck I miss this game
Fr I want this in mario kart 8
Get out of my head PCM, please I’m begging you
Also: Where friendships died.
