That’s when you hydrate or use the restroom.
Cutscenes aren’t actually that bad !
They’re bad when you already saw them
Stage 6: Random Quick Time Event and you just lost.
When it’s a long, unskippable cut scene just before a really hard part like a boss fight or something, stage 6 is a broken keyboard.
“insert any kojima game here”
Laughs in cheat engine speedup.
“open your heart to darkness”
Gran Turismo 7 is awful at this
Those pre boss unskippable cut scenes that replay every time you die 👌🏻
Unless you are replaying a game you already know, why would you want to skip cutscenes?
Forgot E and F
When a skip button pops up right after you give up
Forget it, there’s no way you’re taking Kairi’s heart!!!
(Today’s kids who played the HD remaster won’t get it)
Stage 6 : F
5th step is pressing every button repeatedly even though you know they aren’t going to skip the cutscene
Knights of the Round
Looks like someone merely pressed the space-bar instead of holding on
Honestly, I sometimes even press ‘T’… I can’t remember which game it was, but I remember it working back in the day
cries in Max Payne 3. A brilliant game ruined by cutscenes
Me playing games without cutscenes at all: Sometimes my genius, it generates gravity
You forgot the step where you role your hands/face over the whole keyboard
And then the one that you actually were a little interested in? Skippable, and you accidentally graze the key as you sit back to watch it.
Some games have an obscure button that you have find to skip.
“Hit TAB to skip”
*Me pretending I don’t care so it will go quicker*
I enjoy watching cutscenes, but when there’s a hard fight right after an unskippable cutscene it makes me want to punt my controller across the room
Have you tried punching your screen?
I honestly don’t mind unskippable cutscenes. Unpausable cutscenes however
#WHY DO THEY NOT LET ME PAUSE THEM!
Forgot the part where you mash random keys in attempts to find the ‘interact’ bind
This is me testing God of War not so long ago, Kratos axed that tree like 25 times
Needs a sixth panel where you walk away to make some food or go to the bathroom because fuck that cutscene. If I die and have to watch it again, I’ll just walk away again as many times as it takes.
Skippable cutscenes are great and all, but cutscenes I can skip AND pause are the gold standard.
S. Sometimes it’s S. Fucking AO Tennis.
The worst one is any cutscene you had to watch over and over before a boss you kept dying on.
Metro Exodus lost so much replayability for me due to that. I want to replay it for both achivements and my love for the games and books. Cant be bothered to rewatch all cutscenes twice for the achievement runs.
Doesnt help that i remember the entire story aswell :/
I cry when I replay RE7
The worst offender for me was Mass Effect 3, you fight Kia Leng on the Asari home world. I absolutely tore him to shreds with my Vanguard biotics then he gunships out in a cutscene. It was clearly supposed to be a tougher fight. The whole damn crew is depressed after, but I was thinking the whole time “why are we sad, I beat him easily except for the stupid cutscene plot armor.”
– “So, You want to hear a story, huh?”
– No.
– Good, here we go
You missed the important last step. Return the game, it’s broken.
I’m not even kidding. I did that with Borderlands 3. Gave them feedback as to why I was returning it. Several months later, they patched the game to skip cutscenes, and I bought it again.
Good job for listening to customer feedback folks.
Hey every other game company: Unskippable cutscenes are an unforgivable sin in game design. Don’t do it.
What monster goes for Esc as the first attempt to skip a cutcene?
Tell me. For whom do you fight?
Hmph! How very glib. And do you believe in Eorzea? Eorzea’s unity is forged of falsehoods. Its city-states are built on deceit. And its faith is an instrument of deception.
It is naught but a cobweb of lies. To believe in Eorzea is to believe in nothing. In Eorzea, the beast tribes often summon gods to fight in their stead–though your comrades only rarely respond in kind. Which is strange, is it not?
Are the “Twelve” otherwise engaged? I was given to understand they were your protectors. If you truly believe them your guardians, why do you not repeat the trick that served you so well at Carteneau, and call them down? They will answer–so long as you lavish them with crystals and gorge them on aether. Your gods are no different than those of the beasts–eikons every one. Accept but this, and you will see how Eorzea’s faith is bleeding the land dry.
Nor is this unknown to your masters. Which prompts the question: Why do they cling to these false deities? What drives even men of learning–even the great Louisoix–to grovel at their feet? The answer? Your masters lack the strength to do otherwise! For the world of man to mean anything, man must own the world. To this end, he hath fought ever to raise himself through conflict–to grow rich through conquest. And when the dust of battle settles, is it ever the strong who dictate the fate of the weak.
Knowing this, but a single path is open to the impotent ruler–that of false worship. A path which leads to enervation and death. Only a man of power can rightly steer the course of civilization. And in this land of creeping mendacity, that one truth will prove its salvation.
Come, champion of Eorzea, face me! Your defeat shall serve as proof of my readiness to rule! It is only right that I should take your realm. For none among you has the power to stop me!
Quickest way to kill replayability in your game
The off chance it’s the 0 or 1 button lol or something obscure.
Yeah it’s impossible for me to replay a game with unskippable cutscenes.
