Is that nier automata?
There are no perfect Dodges. There are some really really good ones, like a Superbird or maybe a Viper, perhaps the Ram SRT-10, and one can consider the old school Chargers and Challengers, but a perfect one? Doesn’t exist.
Ergo, there’s no perfect Dodge mechanic. Just Dodge mechanics. They probably also work on Chryslers and old Plymouths too, if need be.
Hope that helps anyway, good luck with your car repair!
I like Bayonetta’s, but Automata’s is also very good.
Not a dodge, but I also like the block mechanics of DMC Royalguard. It’s very powerful, but also very hard to master.
bayonetta witch time makes me feel like a badass (even tho half the time when it goes off its a fluke from panic dodging away from big enemies)
I really love the dodge rolls and force avoidance tech you have in Jedi fallen order. Really makes you feel like a Jedi, it’s great.
This one
Viewtiful Joe
Neir Automata has my favourite so far.
Elden Ring’s timing is too precise for me and the dodge distance isn’t great (even if you are on Medium load).
Time slow in AC odyssey
Love the spiderman dodge, if your timings off its just a dodge,if your timing bang on you face shot the bad guy with Web and temporarily blind them, taking them out the fight for a little while. Couple of these and you can have half the mobs blinded making your life ALOT easier
Edit : Found [this](https://youtu.be/Sq5NMbsJRJc) instructional video with a decent slowd down section
Witch-time from Bayonetta.
Something just feels right about Bayonetta with witch time. It’s so satisfying to pull off
Shadow of Mordor/War has great dodge and counter mechanics.
Samira W
Nero’s dodge from devil may cry, Table Hopper
Automata’s is the most visually pleasing, but I really like the mechanic in Ys 8. Perfect dodge will give you a timeframe where you are faster than the enemy, and perfect guard will make you invincible for a short time.
Monster hunter world iceborne longsword foresight slash or spirit Lai slash
For honors deflect is cool
I have to admit, the one in Dragon Ball Kakarot, where you dodge perfect and then have an opportunity teleport(dragon ball style) behind the enemy and do an elbow hit on their back, throwing them down and then can follow it up with a Super Kamehameha or Final Flash or something, that shit’s pretty cool.
Nero’s table hopper from DMC 5, never fails to make me feel like a bad ass. It’s like a really neat lateral flip, anime as hell
Bayonetta. This is pretty similar to Bayonetta witch time dodge.
Ghost of Tsushima bc that slit throat animation is really nice
I’ll be honest I’ve been playing too much Sekiro so I love their dodging mechanics. Botw’s time slow dodge is also really good tho
Transformers Devastation! It’s basically witch time but with giant robots
I do enjoy the i-frame timing for the Monster Hunter games. I especially enjoy the ability that gives a chance to sharpen your weapon on successful dodge rolls.
…then again that game series is a heap of nonsense mechanics and overpowered anime stuff so what do I know
If parries count, then Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
The mechanics in this game were so satisfying yet so simple.
I’m no dark souls guy btw.
So this is my favourite mechanic. Thanks op!
I really should play this game.
Once I got it down, Sekiro is the most fun I had with parry/dodge mechanics. It was a pain to get there though.
Nier automata isn’t really a ‘perfect’ dodge, you don’t need to time it, if you spam the button you’re practically invincible
Monster Hunter guard points and parries ofc.
FFXV with Noctis’ black hood accessory equipped auto-dodges enemy attacks
Best dodge for me is the in the Arkham games. Fluid animations that set up combos. My favorite parries are in the God of War series.
Anything by Platinum Games (ex. the OP’s example, Nier: Automata, and Bayonetta, the second one in partciular)
Ghost of Tsushima. Perfect dodge/parry makes me feel like I’m actually skilled at the game haha
BotWs slowing down of time, or (i can hear the downvores already) yo kai watch blasters dodge move
Honourable mention to the excellent Control, where dodging is definitely necessary to stay alive, and can be combined with the shield to plough into enemies.
I do need to replay that game in its entirety soon. I checked it out with full Ray Tracing today (RTX 3080) and it was smooth and looked great. Your me maybe 5 minutes to get used to the dodge mechanics (I’d not played it on nearly 2 years).
The dodge in Alice: Madness returns, where you turn into butterflies or something for a brief moment.
Bayonettas time slow
I always love the slowmo, “cinematic” dodges from Alan Wake.
Love the flow of Batman Arkham Asylum (and follow ups) dodges and close combat
Idk about dodges but deflecting a guardian’s ray with link’s shield in botw is just perfect for me
Breath of the wild where you backflip into bullet time
Witch Time.
I always liked the dodges you do in Alan Wake. When you narrowly avoid an attack and that slow motion movement happens. Always engaging!
The Ys games have my favorite perfect block and perfect dodge mechanic.
Edit: corrected autocorrect
Any dark souls game. you execute the perfect dodge and still die horribly.
Eddys spin or hand spring and yoshimitsu’s spin to the other side in tekken 3
