I get where the hate comes from but it’s actually a fun game. I’m a few hours in and haven’t felt like I’ve hit a paywall.

  • InflamedLiver

Why I’ve always been more pissed off at the consumer than the game company. They’ll take every possible cent from people stupid enough to give it to them.

  • Mimicpants

As far as mobile games go it’s actually a good one. I know it’s frustrating to get a mobile Diablo instead of a new full title, but honestly I’m not going to complain about new quality content in the relative desert that is mobile gaming.

  • TheSealofDisapproval

It’s always funny/sad to me that anyone thinks this will ever change. “but we hate it, why do they keep making it?” Well, because the people that go to those Blizzard events are fans. Not casuals – fans. Casuals don’t spend money to fly across the country to go see a dude on stage talk about a video game. Fans do. So yeah, the hatred coming from that room was real, but the casuals outnumber them like 1000 to 1. The real money isn’t coming from the fans even when the game is good.

And just like at the end of this Simpsons episode, when the gold rush is over the old fans will be there to get the next title.

    Diablo 4 when?!

Lost me back during the whole Blitzchung controversy in 2019.

Fuck Blizzard, there is no coming back the path they’ve gone down.

  • SumoSoup

Next up is block chain, people swear up and down against it, but it’s comming and these same people are gonna keep feeding it. I long fir one last true adventure.

  • killerhurtalot

I hate the message, but the game is actually solid. Just sucks if you try to min max everything cause it requires money.

They literally replaced grinding for a perfect roll item with spending money lol.

  • Slabb84

I went and bought Diablo 3 ultimate version. I couldn’t help myself. Haven’t played in like 3 years. Better than wasting it on a mobile game.

They say vote with your wallet, so I have done just that with Blizzard for several years now after having grown up as a blizzard north fan boy.

Of course, as long as that small heavy spending minority exists my vote will get out-weighted every time.

Ah well. Money and humans. The calculations were done and people like me just don’t matter in the end.

    Welcome to modern gaming.

Together we will watch all our favorite franchises go to crap, as thousands of people who just casually enjoy games tell us we’re wrong to point out the problems and how what’s going on is just fine. Slowly but surely, the major players will turn to free-to play because of the vast difference in returns vs investments.

Mid budget to big budget buy to play will become a thing of a past, and having complete content for the properties we once loved will cost hundreds or more. And even if you do get the ‘complete content’, you’ll never be getting the kind of games you were getting before, but rather shallow experiences made to be played in brief downtime moments, like on the toilet…

Concurrently, the indy scene will continue to become increasingly competitive due to ease of access, ultimately discouraging taking risks on unique and interesting concepts and depth, and releasing more and more ‘early access’ titles that show tons of promise but then never get finished…

Bastions will exist. There will be moments to remember. But so much fewer… so much further between.

If you can’t see the signs by now, you’re not looking hard enough. The golden age is past us. The end of days has begun.

(Being intentionally hyperbolic, for those of you that can’t tell. But also, this is a very real potential future if things continue on the current trajectory.)

  • No-Clue3245

Downloaded Diablo Immortal to play with some friends who also downloaded. Played for a couple hours, spent no money, had fun. I don’t understand what everyone is so upset about. It’s a free game. Nobody is being forced to spend money to play it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Conscious-Golf-5380

This is why I believe voting for a President is BS. We think voting gives us power but only like 20% of us have the intellect to know what is BS. It’s the illusion of choice. If voting actually worked it would be banned. But the the majority of people are so out of touch and stupid that stuff like this exist.

  • SippinAndRippin

I don’t understand all the money game talk?
Been playing the game enjoyably without spending any money

  • -Dalzik-

Blizzard sucks.. I know theres still a lot of loyal customers and whales who like 🐋 games.. but if they keep this crap up I’ll be surprised if they exist in 10 years

  • SModfan

Why is it that everything people do nowadays needs to be a “stand” against something. Like, don’t buy things you don’t want and let that be the end of it.

  • rejectallgoats

This game was made for Asia. They just happen to also be publishing it in the West. I’m not sure if people know about how successful Diablo 3 RoS ended up being in China.

  • SirBastian1129

Of course Blizzard will still make money.

Sheep and the Chinese market will literally pay for whatever they shit out.

  • Miramarr

The whole “10 years or $110,000” was enough to turn me off. I played the ever living shit out of D2 and D3 (to a lesser extent) and having the micro transaction for instant gear carrot dangled infront of me the whole time is bad news and I know I need to stay away. I’ll stick to hearthstone…*whimper*

  • LimitedSwitch

They lost me with all the activision bs. I don’t care about Diablo immortal because I’m not gonna install it.

  • Brewe

Really? That’s how it feels? Because I have only heard bad things about it.

I mean, I’m sure it’s still printing money, but it’s not doing so loudly.

  • downvotemeplss

It’s sad that Blizzard likely makes way more money now than they did in the 90’s and early 2000’s when they were designing some of the greatest games ever made.

  • lies_about_flossing

I’m looking forward to playing something decent on my phone when shitting. You all care way too much about dumb things. Its 1/1000000 games.

  • Im_probably_naked

I’ve been playing it and not paying any money. Still having a pretty good time running through the story. Only level 30 though I don’t know how long this will last. Also I think it’s better on the PC.
