Wait until it’s done with deepfakes and whatever AI thing they used for Val Kilmer in the new Top Gun movie.
Just wanted to leave this here. The channel is amazing and has great science content. The people stealing from this man anger me.
might as well label it with “youtube drama” tag
Non-informative headline and long-winded video. Just tell us what it is.
Short video means getting to the point.
Used to watch this channel for the speakers videos, crazy that it got picked up and used in fake ads. The current landscape of the internet will have to change eventually as things like this get more common and less easy to distinguish from genuine content.
Wow interesting video. I think this is going to become a bigger and bigger issue as deepfakes become easier to make. It’s going to be a scary world when you can’t believe your own eyes anymore.
Seen loads of these recently, lots of live Elon musk or Johnny Depp interviews with bitcoin giveaway QR codes on them.
Not sure I would describe this as him being scammed, the video in question is really nothing new to the internet, it’s just more shameless click-baiting garbage, same as the ones claiming some celebrity discovered this “new trick that you’ll never believe” etc. The internet is infested with this stuff, making such a fuss over it seems a little drastic, just report it and move on, most people with half a brain will see how shadey it is from a mile away
I guess the silver lining here is that a majority of those 300k views a day would likely be bots/paid views. Thats how these scammers usually work, put up the scam video, then pour some time and money in to pumping the views (helps make it look legit).
No doubt some people have likely been scammed, and no doubt it sucks for the original channel to have this happen. But I dont think its as bad as it looks. Hopefully get they can get the channel reported and deleted asap.
I got scammed just watching this dramatic, long winded video about something that isn’t even a scam.
By definition, the other video is a scam, so we’re led to believe.
At no point was the channel Tech Ingredients scammed. It shows that even they don’t know what scam means. What’s going to “hurt their reputation” is this post.
This is just a terrible attempt at gaining views. They could have just reported it and moved on. No need for a video about it.
Scammers are evolving, we need to crack down harder on them now.
If only there was some function built in where we could see how many people disliked the video in the first place. That might help, just spitballing here.
