    I was in the Navy in 1986-1989, the com center where I worked was still using one of these. Very finicky to keep running, very heat sensitive. It was due to be replaced when I left.

    Hard to believe how quickly the tech we see as “highly modern” can become totally obsolete within just a couple decades or even years. Chances are vets of that era like this lady would probably not even know how to use a lot of the current-day stuff. Everything has changed so much with computers and beyond.
