I think back to an interview Bowie did with Terry Gross when he talked about their relationship. Given the status of both of them, the status didn’t matter. They were just two people who loved each other who weren’t taken in by the fame and so, could really just be themselves when they were together.

Bowie had many looks throughout his career, but he exuded class like no rock star I’ve ever seen in both his dress and the way he normally communicated. Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull communicates with great class, but doesn’t look as good doing it. I hope he went to the Good Place. Wherever that was for him.
