This picture was taken at the corner of Dickson St. and Ainslie St. N. in downtown Galt (now called Cambridge), Ontario, Canada.
Weeks of wet weather combined with the spring melt caused this flood of the Grand River in May 1974.
Despite causing millions of dollars of damages, my grandparents loved talking about this event.
