I remember dissecting owl pellets in high school. We had to remove all the bones and try to put the skeleton back together. It was pretty fascinating seeing what each owl had eaten.

Owl pellets! We had a whole subject in science that taught us all about owl pellets, so when owls eat they swallow their food whole and they can’t digest bones and fur, so they regurgitate these “balls” of fur and bones.

I currently sleep in the woods, and I got to lay in my hammock and listen to an Owl eat.. something. It was crunching through it’s bones for what felt like hours. Very loud.
Weeks before that I got to listen to the beginning of the Mating ritual. Kinda funny actually. Funnier than the crunching bones.
