John Carpenter has a lot of good movies. The Thing is one of my all time favorites.

Fun fact: The South Park episode Cripple Fight re-created a fight scene from this movie almost shot-for-shot.
I hate the way Hollywood reboots movies.
But this one is pretty obscure and probably could use a reboot with some better acting (Sorry Mr. Piper) and with a more nuanced storyline.

This is a movie that could do with a modern retelling, I could absolutely see this as a TV series.
I’m not gonna say the trailer is a masterpiece because it’s John Carter, but it does do what a trailer is supposed to do: tease the story and hook the viewer in less than two minutes. Well done.

The one glaring plot hole this whole movie glosses over (to move it along, i guess) is that the aliens see a guy staring vaguely in their direction and IMMEDIATELY get suspicious that “he knows”. Like… how can they tell what he’s looking at, and have they not seen people in shades before?

I think the aliens updated their “Work 8 hours | Sleep 8 hours | Play 8 hours” signs.
One of those great films of the Hollywood left.

Okay so weird question; why are all of your porn posts pictures taken of monitors? Like you can see the pixels, and in some pictures you can see a black bar on either side or top for the monitor frame, and then some have a white bar like you’re viewing the image in a viewer? Are you taking pictures of your monitor and then uploading and reposting the images? [this one](https://i.redd.it/nzvzm3kfivda1.jpg) for example you can see some white border in the bottom left.
