Geez, the one time a roundabout would make sense
Apparently the tree was there before they started the development, and it was a requirement when the original landowner sold the land that the tree stayed.
I read this as “Scared Tree” and thought ‘I would be scared to living in the middle of a road! Aww, poor tree!’
To all car drivers: **YOU SHALL NOT PASS**
There’s one here in a similar situation. There’s even a book about it. “The Tree that Owns Itself” if I remember correctly is the title. Kind of an interesting story, started as a lie that became a truth.
