On the scale of Pinocchio to Cinderella.
This looks like it will be in the Aladdin range.
Why is everything so grey
Edit: At least in the beginning half it is, but then you stand seeing random color at around 1:40 which makes it even weirder to me that they didn’t make everything like that. I get some of it is set during night but still.
Melissa McCarthy as Urusla is Brilliant.
This doesn’t look like the trainwreck that The Lion King and Mulan remakes were, but it certainly doesn’t look great either
Well she definitely got the pipes for it.
The chef better be epic
Maybe its just me but I felt like Aquaman had better under water depiction than this, it just felt I dunno….off…
Personally think this looks rough visually. Rob Marshall doesn’t instill confidence. Pirates 4 was another movie with a lot of water that looked bland visually from him.
Damn that last note was incredible.
I’m really not liking the recent Disney Remake trend of deciding that realism = desaturated color.
Why does nobody in the underwater scenes look like they’re underwater? I don’t know what it is but just making the hair flowy isn’t enough. They don’t look wet. I don’t feel like Aquaman looked like that, what did they do different?
I’m not feeling King Triton. There isn’t the same passionate delivery of lines as the cartoon
Not enough budget for red hair dye
I gotta say, I never pay attention to acting in trailers, but some of her line deliveries with a completely stiff face was distracting
James Cameron smiling somewhere knowing nobody can outdo his underwater cinematography.
Why does it look so dry under the sea?
After Avatar 2, every scene underwater will look lackluster or even bad
I cant wait for King Triton to complete his side quest of finding Jack Sparrow
Hearing Sebastian’s voice come out of a photorealistic crab was interesting.
Recreating the shot where she stretches up on the rock looks *really* weird in live-action.
That iconic wave crash shot was so anticlimactic compared to the original. How can they mess up a shot that everyone pretty much has instilled in their head, and is so iconic to The Little Mermaid?
This reminds me of how boring it was when Simba started singing “I just can’t wait to be King” and the background was just bland desaturated colors compared to the original where the colors just snap into vibrant backgrounds. I understand they’re going for “realism” but if that means sacrificing the “magic” that made the originals great… then just stop with the remakes.
Every movie in water looks terrible compared to avatar now.
This movie looks like ass. The girl is a hell of a singer though.
Sebastian looks cursed. Reminds me of the first look at live action Sonic.
the CGI is truly atrocious
Terrible colour choice.
Disney really should just stop the obsession with live action remake of their classics.
